specimens, excellent as a first food for young fish, also excellent
as a conditioner for recent arrivals.
Import distributors and
wholesalers will find this product can dramatically reduce losses,
and increase quality and condition of new arrivals.
Feed as required or desired,
excessive feedings will quickly clog filters, turning off filters
during feeding will reduce waste and provide more product to the
specimens being fed.
NOTE: Daphnia is a seasonal
item, it is collected only in the spring and fall and is therefore
not always available. For avid users it is suggested that you stock
up at these times, volume pricing is available.
Suggestions for usage:
All users should pay heed to
the note above, regarding discontinuation of filtration during
feeding, daphnia flow with water currents.
Special note to
importers/jobbers/shippers, this product is especially effective in
' quick conditioning ' new arrivals. Stimulates immune systems and
nourishes all size fishes, should be implemented as a feeding during
the first few hours ( as soon as possible) of arrival.
Extensive hands on testing
proved a 60% or greater reduction in new arrival losses if used to
feed fishes during this time ( at unpacking is optimum ).
Frozen product should be thawed
in water to avoid bursting of 'enzyme', use cold tap water.
5 # of frozen product makes the
proper mix for 3 1/2 gal. of water, product must be kept below 58 f.
(use ice if required), until feeding, average import ' bag ' feeding
portion equals 2 - 4 oz. dependent on number of fish only ( not size
) EXAMPLE : 20/30 lg. angel = 2oz. /vs/ 600 to 1200 neon = 4 oz.
(1600/3000 = 6 oz.).......
IMPORTANT: Mix must be agitated
(stirred) regularly to ensure even portioning, as Daphnia will
settle to the bottom of the mix.
